No way he was throwing it there right? Couldn't have been put in a better place. I 100% thought he was throwing it away but didn't get enough on it as he went down.shel311 wrote:Aaron Rodgers, my God, What a pass!

That was probably the best pass of the season, just silly.

Re: NFL Thread
Over reaction Monday with New England and San Fran
Average Offensive rank of NE opponents - 27.125
Average Offensive rank of SF opponents - 21.428
NE best offense they have faced was Buffalo at 19
SF best offense they have faced was LA Rams at 8
SF has a better argument for their defense being pretty good.

Re: NFL Thread
NE's D has performed decidedly more dominant than SF.
Like most dominant ever type performance so far.

If I had the desire I would go back and research Baltimore, Chicago and Seattle to see what kind of offensive ranks they faced.

Rudolph is pretty awful
Re: NFL Thread
As a Steeler fan, I like him. I don’t think he’s a savior and might not be our future but I watch a lot of overhyped shit bums who don’t stand in pocket and he has balls to do it and makes pretty decent throws

Re: NFL Thread
Him standing in the pocket seemed more like a byproduct of him knowing he's not a runner and then also having terrible ability to maneuver inside the pocket at the same time. There were a couple plays where he drifted right into pressure that resulted in either a sack, holding call, or batted ball. I will say though, that's an issue for a lot of these young signal callers so hopefully the increased reps will see him keep his feet moving back there and then step into some throws. Hard to like the trade at this point though

what trade?DRWebs wrote:Him standing in the pocket seemed more like a byproduct of him knowing he's not a runner and then also having terrible ability to maneuver inside the pocket at the same time. also my point about him standing in the pocket is that 75% of young qb's just check down at first sign of pressure or have plays created to roll out which cuts off half the field in order to protect him. Pitt just leaves him back there and lets him make decisions, for a young qb that's either negligent coaching or they trust his ability back there... its probably some of both. he certainly benefits from having a nice O line so he can stand tall a little more confidently
he's thrown 9 td's 3 picks and completing like 64% of his passes. he's not a world beater, but he's been pretty good.
not sure how much of him you watched but we could/should/almost (whatever pointless word one can use) beat the 49ers, Seahawks and Ravens with him at QB.
our D is insane but he's been fine. clearly last night 1st q was gross. but he's young and to be expected.

Re: NFL Thread
* 16/24 completions vs the Bengals were check downs to RBs
* Dolphins are on pace to be on the of worst defenses in history
* Steelers are only mid table in DVOA
4 soft games remain with CLE x2, CIN, and NYJ and then ARI but if they missed the playoffs I wouldn't be one bit surprised. The Fitzpatrick deal looks worse now then it did at consummation

Re: NFL Thread
they were 0-2 when they made the trade for him and Ben was out for the season. they are far more unlikely to make the Playoffs than they are to make the playoffs.... that was true then and even at 3-4 their chances of making the playoffs and rational fans expectations are pretty minimal.
i don't even see where this line of thought is taking you, i guess thats the part thats confusing me the most. you seemed to go from Mason to the trade randomly. if the Steelers had their 1st round pick i don't see how that has anything to do with Mason. The Steelers weren't going QB with a 1st round pick with or without Fitzpatrick. If they didn't trade for Fitzpatrick they were using their first on a safety, which was the primary need on defense.
Steelers have made it pretty clear they are rolling with Ben for at least next year and probably the next 2 unless he's an absolute train wreck on return

Re: NFL Thread
Jamal Adams is a really good player, but it's funny he thinks he is in Aaron Donald/Tom Brady territory.
On the rumors that the Jets took trade calls for him, part of him being upset was him saying the Rams don't take calls on Donald and the Pats don't take calls on Brady.
Funny thing is, I think the Pats would absolutely take calls on Brady, because that's just what they do.

He's obviously not THAT good anymore but I'm not even sure he's good now. Average at best.... If that?
