they already did the draft order?
Honest question. Do you not think Pittsburgh will be one of the worst 5 teams in the NFL?
Mason Rudolph came in and nearly won the game. Now he will get a ton of reps and know he is the starter. I do not know how good he will be but I'd bet a ton of cash that Pitt is not a bottom 5 team and probably not a bottom 10

Steelers will win at least 7.

However, I think it's a foolish trade. Star WR and HB gone, now their QB that has chattered about retirement is out for the year. I respect Ben's comments about returning, but it's a long road from that surgery and old bodies don't heal like young ones. Unless they truly believe that Mason Rudolph has been laying low like Aaron Rodgers, this is nuts. Minkah is a hybrid DB, not a lockdown corner. Committing a mid-round first right now to this position is really bold.

Sean Davis is out for the year. He's coming in to play safety and occasionally some slot corner

if Minkah was coming out this year at 22 he'd be drafted around 10-20. Not sure why them giving up a likely 10-20 pick is considered so crazy. if they like the player its just speeding up the process and guaranteeing you're getting what you like. the only downside is the clock is sped up on having to pay the player.

And the possibility the wheels really fall off and that pick turns into a top 5 ish type pick.

yeah, i mean he was the 11th pick overall.

not saying that's what he's worth but yeah.

to be honest i'm not a huge fan of the trade. i was hoping they could have got him for a 2nd and 5th or something but the reports out there were that like 5 or 6 teams were in on the bidding so they didnt have a choice if they wanted him.

Steelers played fine vs Seattle. they lost by 2 and had a fumble return TD called back for a block in the back that had absolutely nothing to do with the play and basically happened after the runner was free in the endzone. shit like that is part of the game but they played well enough to win the game.

i'd assume they end up somewhere in the 6-10 range

So he comes in to play for Sean Davis and changes positions next year? Does he replace Davis (who is still young with some upside)?

I think the pick is solidly in the 10-16 range. For what the team needs long-term, even if the pick hits that range, I don't think Minkah is the guy they need. If you did this for Ramsey, sure, I get it. He's a lockdown (even though he has to be paid). When I look at Minkah, I see a lot of Jabril Peppers. Good football player, not clearly great at anything.

Add on the risk that exists in the QB position now. While we don't think they end up picking in the top 5, there's a realistic chance it can happen. If you're honest with yourself, there's also a very realistic chance that Ben says screw it and retires or his recovery doesn't go well.

If you pulled Minkah for a 2-5, 2-4, I'd be down with it. But there's risk for disaster and long-term problems, while most would agree that this QB class is looking really good. If this is 2004 all over again, Eli 1, Rivers 4, Ben 11... you potentially just walked Ben. I don't think it's that much of a reach that a scenario like this plays out.

This is looking like a massive QB draft class. Not that they will be good, just that a lot will be drafted in the 1st round. Looking at the QBs from Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, Washington, and Oregon all grading to be 1st round picks right now. Add in that some kids from bullshit schools we don't think of will play their way this season to the 1st round we could be looking at 6-8 QBs in Round 1.

But that potential pick next year could end up being JaMarcus Russel type bust as well. At least they know what they are getting right now

I don't understand anything about the Titans last drive. It's like they were trying to run out the clock and not score.
