Over the all-star break the Greeks decided a new voice was needed to motivate this group that has been around each other a long time.

Greeks legend Miguel Acosta has been promoted and is now the skipper of the Richmond Greeks. We expect a HOF managerial career to go along with the HOF playing career. Lets get it Greeks!!!!!!!

So I asked yesterday if I got comp picks if I didn't offer a deal to a draft pick. Very kindly was told I needed to make an offer. So I offered my 1st rounder and one second rounder some monies but my other second rounder I didn't. I have a message today saying I have received a compensation pick for the guy I didn't make an offer to. Now this is very puzzling and annoying. I would not have offered the other 2 guys a deal if I had known this.

Can someone confirm why this has happened? Am very confused and frustrated.

the rule is that you if you don't offer slot that you don't get the comp, that is the mlb rule as i understand it and what we have in place here. what the game actually does sometimes isn't the same for whatever reason. i think in past versions it has not given comp picks if you didn't offer slot so we all assume that it would stay.

the rule is in place to prevent stockpiling draft picks. Years ago we had "super drafts" that would be just loaded with talent... about 5-6x more talent. So one owner wouldn't sign his picks for the previous drafts that were garbage so we would have have a ton of picks in the super draft. we had to figure out a way to stop that.

You'll need to double check with Billy on this but I believe the in game message is actually correct. We did put that rule in place as Ted described but it was more of an honor system than anything else. We were supposed to take screen shots of the offers but no one ever followed through with that.

Its intent was to stop people from hoarding draft picks for the next seasons drafts simply because they decided they didn't want or like their pick. Some of our drafts back several seasons ago would have roughly 45-50 picks in the first round due to this abuse.

If the game says you are getting it then you probably are as I do not edit that stuff at all and the draft order is built by the game itself. As for why you got it without offering, I could not tell you as we follow the 2012 CBA rules and the game enforces it. Could be a glitch, maybe you misunderstood how it played out, who knows. Either way the rule is you must offer slot to get a supplemental so I would just go off of that.

We have been a 1 or 2 seed like 10 years in a row and won once so we good. The offense has not been the powerhouse lineup of the past but ratings are still strong so I feel good actually. We are resting guys and trying to get their healthy. I don’t mind the WC round at all although I suspect they will heat up and I end up the 2 seed again
