Looks like it's Howard Webb on the whistle tonight. Plus the referee from the Brazil-Holland match.

This should be interesting....

Man, the vuvuzeulas are out in full force tonight!!

Louder than normal it seems.

That pregame shot of Amsterdam and that sea of orange was insane.

That Iverson type cross over by Ramos was nuts.

Howard Webb showing why THREE WEEKS AGO I was saying I was worried about him refereeing this match. He's booked four players in 22 minutes.

This match will end 9v9, and Van Bommel will be the first sent off.

Wow. THAT should have been red.

Studs up into the chest?

Like I've said on here a million times before--De Jong and Van Bommel are two of the dirtiest players in the world.

It's Howard Webb.

Ramos' little touch was the same punishment as that boot to the chest

Wow.

He lets the play go, is looking RIGHT AT THE COLLISION. Turns away and does nothing.

Then when he sees Villa down, and sees Spain crying, THEN he gives a yellow?

Webb is showing on the biggest stage of all, just how shite he has become. Absolutely criminal.

Webb lets Puyol basically drag Robben back (and credit to Robben for NOT going down, when he probably SHOULD have, but he wanted to score), and then Webb books Robben for being pissed about it.

Seems about right for him. Hope he enjoys reffing this match, I don't see him getting the call to Brazil in 2014.

They don't do penalty kicks? That is badass. I was worried for a minute.

Not right away.

They'll play two fifteen-minute periods of Extra Time.

If STILL level, then it goes to PKs.

Except that in the Super Bowl, you can sub all you want, and guys haven't just run 10 miles in the previous two hours.

Cannot believe they took Villa off 15 min before PKs. That could come back to hurt them. I know Spain's still got a lot of guys out there who can take them well, and one of the best keepers in the world, but....

If those 2 tennis players can play for hours and hours, so can soccer players.

The irony.

Robben is the biggest diver in the world; stays up when Puyol tries to take him down, could've gone down legit and gotten the red; and he stays on his feet and nothing happens.

Iniesta, who NEVER EVER EVER dives, is one of the classiest players out there, gets taken down in the same area, maybe could've stayed up, and didn't; and the player is sent off. then....HE DIVES and gets another Dutch guy booked. I have NEVER seen Iniesta take a dive. Gotta love the irony

Really?

They played over three days.

They got to sit down between every three games.

By the time they got into that 5th set tiebreak, they were just serving to each other and that's about it. There were few real rallies.

They sure as hell weren't running 10 miles, or more, getting knocked over, fouled, etc.

give it a break J

running ten miles at about a 20 minute per mile pace

these guys are HARDLY dogging out there right now, they could play another 30 minutes

and we dont need to worry about it, lol

Howard Webb has truly ruined this match.

He lets Elia get obstructed by not one, but TWO players at the other end, no call. Maybe if he had rolled around for 30 seconds like Villa did in the first half, then he'd have come back and said "you know what, maybe it WAS a foul" and handed out a booking like he did to Heitinga--for something that wasn't a foul, and ended up causing him to be sent off when he DID commit a foul here in extra time.

Congrats to Spain, I didn't really like either team....but I was hoping for a good final. Instead we got one of the WORST officiated matches I've ever seen on this stage. I guess that's the proper way to cap off this tournament, which has seen god-awful officiating all around.
