keepers were Juju/CmC/Henry and AT. I traded rounds 5-9 away (ugh) and still ended up with a pretty solid team. Had I had those picks id easily have the best team in the league. Very annoying, esp since i dealt Kerryon Johnson + 1/2/3/4/5 for Thielen :(

Seattle essentially got him for free. Houston traded him for a 3rd round pick. Had he played this season with HOU then left in the offseason, HOU would have gotten a 3rd round comp pick. Now Seattle gave up the 3rd rounder, and they'll get it back if he leaves.

Houston is also paying half his salary. I legit can't find any reason why this was good for Houston.
He was going to sit out, no? Wouldn't sign his tender with them.
Like the Leveon Bell thing last season, if he sat out, wouldn't he not reach free agent status this coming offseason?
It depends.

For Bell, Pittsburgh franchised him for the 2018 season, he sat out anyway, and then they decided to not waste franchise on him again.

This was the first year Houston tagged Clowney, so they could have done it two more years and he would have been stuck - yes, he can go out and get another team to offer him a contract that Houston can then let him go, but that team loses 2 1st round picks, so that's just not happening.

It sounds like Clowney wanted to be paid top EDGE rusher money and he's simply not in the category with the top ~5 guys in the league. Houston, while having money under the cap, has no GM (O'Brien is basically filling that role) and it sounds like they pissed him off with the tag (they tagged him as a LB and not a DE costing him $1 mil in the franchise offer while being $36 mil under the cap), so they're kind of getting what they deserve.

I'd be so upset if I was in the Raider front office. But then again, they should have known better.

That issues apparently boiled over Wednesday when Brown and Raiders general manager Mike Mayock got into an altercation that ended with the four-time All-Pro threatening to punch Mayock before punting a football and telling the GM to "fine him" for that. The Raiders reportedly plan to suspend Brown for the incident.
I thought once they had the guarantee money it was damn near impossible to get out of it. Didn't the Patriots have to pay money owed to Hernandez after he was convicted of murder?
With the previous fines, the Raiders have documented a pattern of behavior that would give them ground to suspend Brown for conduct detrimental to the team, and that could allow them to void the remaining $29.125 million that Brown is owed over the next two seasons, and cut him without further cost should they decide the headache no longer is worth it.

Trubisky with 3 near picks in 1st half.... technically it’s improvement from the 5 he averaged last season :(

Billy, Don't get too excited for this Bear team. If they don't get the 35+ turnovers like they did last year they win 9 games, this offense is hot garbage to watch.

They still have the best D so they will be in every game and minus the QB we probably have a top 10 offense as far as talent/weapons. Unfortunately Trubisky does not look any better than he did in his 1 year at UNC and holds the entire god damn team back
