Remember when the Clippers locked DeAndre Jordan in his own home and took away his phone to wait until midnight for him to sign that deal to stay in LA?

Ahhhh, those were the days!!!

Did he?

I'm guessing if he made this decision, that probably means the Spurs ended up being a dead end.

Not sure what else was out there otherwise.

I know you have to get something and we had team control for 2 years and all that but the Butler trade does not look quite as bad after seeing this.

I am curious, what put Harden in MVP talks and to this new level was playing point. They are both so ball dominant, will be interesting to see how they fit

Apples and oranges, I don't think you can deduce anything about Butler from this one. Paul literally told LAC he was leaving the team, Butler has 2 years left.

I certainly agree that the fit will be interesting. But Lebron/Kyrie are both ball dominant and the offense does fine.

Just glad to see a change of scenery for my beloved Chrissy!!!

Also interesting to note that, Chris Paul opted in to his player option, so unless they came to an agreement, Woj didn't say they did, Paul is still set to become a free agent after next season.

Why did SA not end up being an option? Seemed like a dream fit

I definitely think it is a better situation for Paul and makes the Rockets better. They are both great and Paul is one of the smartest guys out there and does not need to prove anything so I am sure they will make it work. I wonder if Morey still has a plan to land PG

The biggest question of all. Can the acquisition of CP3 get Harden to at least acknowledge that defense is in fact in the game of basketball

Windhorst says HOU will make a strong push for George, but what can they possibly offer?

@ZachLowe_NBA Following More I think -- think -- Houston has to send out more $$ or wait until after 7/1 to consummate deal. May be more moves coming.
Stephen A. Smith reporting that if Carmelo Anthony receives a buyout from the NY Knicks, he'll head to Houston to join Harden and CP3.

Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon are all I can think of but they are not anything that would really excite Indy.

is this a good move? DOesnt Harden need the ball in his hand? He became a like MVP as a PG for D'Antoni.

He certainly did but it makes more sense now if he truly does opt out next year. If he signs long term he's never going to win that title

They're better today than they were yesterday.

Harden and role players is a step down from Harden and Paul imo. They're both actually unselfish players, so I think that'll save it from being a disaster type fit.
