Colt's first year at QB he completed 60% of his passes. Last year he completed 57% for 2700 yards, 14 TDs and 11 picks. This is all without a running game (Cleveland ranked 29th in rushing) and without any offensive weapons. Greg Little may emerge into a star but he isn't yet.

The Browns should have gone with something else at 22. Hell, I think DeCastro would have been a great pick for them there. Instead they draft a QB who will turn 29 by week 5. Face it, if Trent is as good as he's been touted then Cleveland will be a running team. They should have beefed up the right side of that line or gone WR/CB/TE. They should be able to fill WR in the early second round but the value of DeCastro was very high at 22. Instead, he slips to 24 to your division rival. They could have gotten Weeden tomorrow.

Yup. Had to trade up or they were going to get passed and not get Richardson

Now, to address the Seahawks taking Bruce Irvin 15th.

When our pick came up at 12 with Kuechly off the board I was happy we traded down. At 15 I was hoping we would trade down again as I was never high on Coples and I was just so-so on Ingram. When I saw the pick was in I thought for sure it was Ingram and I would have lived with it. Then I heard Bruce Irvin's name and was a bit shocked. I knew who the kid was but I did not expect him there. I am not pissed off like some Seahawks fan, and I don't think the pick is all that bad like some football fans.

My only issue with the pick is that it happened at 15; however, according to PFT, at least 7 teams had Irvin going in the top 15 and rumor had it that the 49ers wanted him. Pete has known this kid since Irvin was in junior college and has followed him ever since.

In my opinion, we didn't need a defensive end. I wasn't high on any of them to really say we needed to make sure we got him. Kuechly was my only must-have for us (realistically). Ignoring off the field issues for now, Irvin's biggest drawback is his size and inability to stop the run. We don't need him to stop the run. We still have a great front 4 in Clemons, Mebane, Branch and Big Red Bryant. KJ Wright has emerged as a nice talent at LB and a very sure tackler. We lost Hawthorne but gained Ruud. We also have 2 pro bowl safeties and we might bring Chancellor to OLB. Browner has also emerged at corner and is tall as fuck, just like Sherman who hopefully emerges with Trufant gone. Walter Thurmond III also showed signs of good things.

Irvin runs just over a 4.4 40-yard dash and is explosive. He can play the Leo position that Pete uses and should be great alongside Clemons who had 11 sacks last year. As a team, Seattle struggled to get to the QB and was a big contributor to our struggles.

People don't realize that Irvin was 2nd in the nation in sacks in 2010 with 14. He had more sacks than Von Miller and Ryan Kerrigan.

If this kid can come in and be explosive and chase the QB around then this pick will turn out to be excellent. Right now I can definitely understand how it is a head scratcher but the kid deserves a chance. His speed, explosiveness and athleticism will be welcome in Seattle. Tackles will have to be on top of their game with this kid coming off the edge, especially at Qwest.

Lastly, I also think DeCastro would have been a good pick here. I think the Steelers got an absolutely fucking steal when he dropped to 24.

I was so excited the Jets were trying to get him, then bummed when I heard Cleveland got it. I like the Jets pick of Coples at DE. I think Minnesota messed up big time not taking Claiborne at 4. They could have taken Claiborne at 4 to deal with that pass-heavy division they play 6 times a year and then used the surplus of picks they had to trade up mid-round and get one of the other first-round OL.

Colt McCoy is/was/will always be FUCKING HORRENDOUS.

the Browns took a huge step in the right direction just by getting him away from center. Weeden may or may not be good, but Colt wasn't the answer, time to move on.

you'd have to be nuts to draft a 28 year old qb and not at least give him a fair shot at winning the job. i would say unless he sucks in camps, he's getting the first snap for the Browns next year.

But seriously in this NFL you can't tell the fan base that you are building something. In the nfl you must have a win now mentality. By keeping colt that is not a win now mentality. By draftin Weeden your trying your ass off to find the answer at qb. He may not be it but i have certainly seen worse picks.

6 games per year vs your division, so it's always smart to consider that as you draft. not saying it should completely shape you draft, but you have to be aware of who you're in competition with. that was part of the julio decision for atlanta last year. they knew they needed to get more explosive to compete with green bay and new orleans. don't think for a minute that they didn't look ahead to this year's draft and realize there was not another julio to be had this year and no elite players where they would have been picking.

Well, Taylor is nice. Little can turn into something great, hopefully. Same with Trent, but honestly, they could have moved up to get Trent without Atlanta's fourth.

But the bottom line is the Browns have never given Colt a weapon and now they are giving up on him.

where cleveland is with their franchise, it was a good deal. where we are with ours, it was a good deal. i'd do it again today. jones almost had 1000 yards last year, despite being paired on a team with a near 100 catch receiver and missing 2 full games and most of 2 others with injuries. we're set, even after roddy goes off the wr cliff.

Really loved what the Eagles were doing until the Nick Foles pick...Brandon Thompson and Jayron Hosley going 5 and 6 picks later would have been much better.
