If any of you subscribe to The Athletic there is an awesome article about how players tools are graded.

What I mean is if a bunch of guys say this draft sucks and don’t sign guys on purpose and next year we have 43 first round picks because they hope the draft will be better then I will make picks auto signed to avoid that scenario in the future. I don’t care or pay that much attention to what happens after the first round or two.

You guys are kidding right....if the draft is shit I reserve the right to not sign a guy. That's what comp picks are for. And don't spout to me about how it's not realistic. Guys do shit that isn't realistic all the time in this game (ie. leaving a guy on Injured List forever when he's healthy). The issue should be about comp picks not auto-signing.....

Except with your example it really has little effect on the rest of us. If people don't sign their picks then next year's draft is a total cluster fuck and effects us all. The draft is a crap shoot anyways ,maybe your 47 becomes a player.

I'm not upset at all just trying to see the logic. It's about guys having financial freedom taken out of their hands. I'm not saying there isn't an issue at all. In fact I agree with you. But I think the solution is to remove comp picks completely (both from the non draftees signing and free agency) rather than hamstring owners by forcing budgetary constraints on them. Just my thoughts.

By the way Austin is good, he ain't great though. Still can't believe I got him though lol.

Comp picks in free agency have not been an issue at all since we went to the new CBA. I never have to remove comp tags as guys are not afraid to sign them anymore. If we do auto sign there is no bonuses so you draft who you think is your guy and there is no harm. I am not saying I will do it, lets see how this goes but if we start having 40 first rounders because guys think 21 draft sucks then it is going to be a problem

Is there still a bug where we can't tell if someone offered slot or not? I thought if you didn't offer slot, you didn't get the comp pick?

Massive ratings drops for Bob Long, it’s been a hell of a run at the top buddy. Unfortunately my bullpen is already my weak spot

Financial freedom? When players are auto signed, you no longer have to pay them. You draft them and they're assigned to your team. There is no negotiating. There is no payment. If anything, this gives you more financial freedom as it frees up ~7M+ yearly to spend in different avenues.

This.
I wish we went to auto signing and forget the negotiating.
Draft a player, he is yours, simple.

Just played 1 batter on the HR challenge. Some guy from Edmonton.

Was actually pretty fun and ended up with 28.

Took me a while before I realized the green light was when to click and swing.

The demands of those international guys does not quite jive with their potentials, in my most humble of opinions

Yeah, that was pretty fun. It was easier for me to hit home runs watching the pitcher than the green light.
