How is media revenue decided? I was thinking that Boston should be head and shoulders above everyone and I was surprised to see him sitting $8M behind the leading team....NEW JERSEY?!? A team with a combined 387-701 since 2049.

That and I don't get how Boston doesn't lead the league in gate/season ticket revenue every season.

agree with attendance.
I think we should have a winter meeting topic on media revenue. World Series winner gets $50M, runner up gets $49M, playoff teams get $47M, Above .500 teams gets $43M, .500 teams gets $41M, all others besides the bottom 5 gets $39M and the bottom 5 gets $37M

I never have increased the size of my stadium since joining the league. I just increase ticket prices and now am over $40.
Smaller stadium in a "big" market allows me to continually get more and more season ticket holders which gets me a guaranteed 22k a game at that $40+ a ticket so even when I had my slow start last year I was still bringing in money.
I've also made playoffs 20 of 21 years and 30/35.
Alabama, who is also always up there, is 16/17.
While Boston is getting there, this game doesn't differentiate between winning and dominating when in comes to attendance. When it comes to selling tickets, Boston is on par with me and Alabama.
Boston is also basically selling out every game, he just is keeping his ticket prices lower for whatever reason.

Because I have too as it generates the highest predicted revenue and finding the sweet spot which is an issue for this game.
And dont ever compare Boston to Washington again, thanks.

You guys are losing the point of the initial post. There is absolutely NO REASON New Jersey should be the leader in Media Revenue. And he shouldn't be $8M over the defending champ who has been as dominant of a team as any in history over the past decade.

Yeah, I can not really explain that one. When he joined and moved his market size gets reset to average and that is where it is. I know consistent winning is the key to all those things increasing but that one is definitely strange

Hell of a day.
Might actually mean something if it hadn't been Cookeville.
Followed up by a 16-0 drubbing, 1 hitter by Oliver.
Same statement applies though I guess.

Greeks were shut out in back to back games vs Miami and our bullpen has been an absolute mess since Baileys fall. I think we are just putting Bailey with his diminished ratings back at closer and hope for the best
The good news is Reyes will be back next week and we start fine tuning things for the playoffs

I know I'll just get the "They'll come down" schpeel, but going to be interesting to see how FA plays out the next few seasons. Demands just keep going up and up and up. No one, no one, is going to be able to afford these guys eventually.

I think demands will come down but when they do still be at realistic levels for an all-star and not the cheap bargains we have been getting. The real problem will be extending guys before they get to FA as it will take a truly special player to give 28-35 million a year to someone to keep them from FA

Sputtering Spitters also w a half game lead over the Shockers
bottom part of the AL BEAST has some competitive juice.

And there it is. Very first post after.

And again, with these guys demanding 28-35M a year + the other guys that are still going to be demanding double digit millions....
Could be a good thing though I suppose. No one is going to be able to stockpile an all star team any more (looking at you Boston

)

The problem is the budgets aren't keeping pace with the demands.
Boston's budget should be well over $200million based on our recent success and ability to draw attendance and should be pushing ticket prices into higher amounts as well.
And here we sit with a $164mil budget
I am perfectly fine with the high demands and they are realistic. Our budget and ability to keep up with them as fast as they changed in '19 is not.
