I wasn't giving him a 7 year deal like he wanted. Figured a 2 year deal with more money would get the job done.

And 40th best? C'mon now that's stretching it a little bit. 4th in Quality starts among lefties, 3rd in opponents average among lefties, 4th in innings pitched (which helps this horrible bullpen)

Only thing I screwed up was giving his 2nd year as a player option instead of a team option.

I agree with you. He's super underrated. If I had the money I probably woulda given him like 15-18M for 3 or 4 years. Of course with all the free money sitting around FA demands are stupid lol.

I'm super nervous about signing pitchers. I've been screwed more times than I can count. That was the reason I went with a 2 year option. if his ratings tank then i am only on the hook for 2 years.
