Apparently Tebow is an all world baseball athlete. Hes 30 in A ball hitting at the mendoza line. I dont understand what you think is so talented about him? 29/30 teams didnt wnat him and Mets said ah fuck it we'll make some $$ and stuck him in A ball.

For someone obsessed with minor league parks having the same dimensions, it's becoming more and more apparent that you have no idea what you're talking about on some topics.

Dave barely posts anymore so you can't piggyback his thoughts and it's really showing.

I don't think he's so talented for baseball. I think be more talented than you an Niddler.

Also, I highly doubt Dave would think that highly of you and Niddler compared to Tebow.

Guys I dont know if I had 6-8 months training cause I'm rich, the best docs, trainers, etc, if I could bat .200 in A ball like a 30 yr old bench player. Thats an awful tough one.

at first I thought you were kidding. but now i'm starting to assume you're being serious.

not only would you have no chance in hell of hitting .200. i'd bet my life savings you wouldn't hit .100

no knock on you or your baseball ratings, but i'm not sure you realize how good any level of minor league baseball is. The talent of an A league player isn't really that far off an ML player. the difference is consistency for a large majority of them (a pitcher has all the stuff but lacks control, etc) if you saw a 96 mph at your chin then a curveball snap at your knees you'd shit your pants and be dancing in the batters box.

You guys are missing my point that Tebow sucks and I could bat as poorly as him in A ball, which ive said. Then you got Shel saying nope, his .200 is elite!! i could never compare to the 4th worst avg on a team that medians around 375

Image

my point is hes trash in baseball. Id be trash too, but itd be the exact same trash.

So you respect Daves opinion but you think his opinion was intentionally just the opposite of yours.

Nick is on fire lately!!!!

Tebow was an all state baseball player in Florida.

It is really fucking hard to play minor league baseball. there are so many factors even beyond just playing. having the discipline, the work ethic, the ability to handle failure, the body/athleticism/mind power to handle playing 100+ games after 10 hour bus trips, etc.

it's very easy to say stuff like 'I could do that'. even if I grant you the athletic/hitting portion of it and say you could hit well enough, it takes so much more than that.

then we're not even getting into the fact you'd have to use a wooden bat. hitting with wood vs anything else is like learning how to hit all over again. you wouldn't hit .100. you know I love ya, you just are off on this one.

but fuck it, go prove us wrong. who am I to say what you can do or can't do.

while most of what you're saying about Tebow is correct in terms of it being a publicity stunt, it takes a lot of time to master a craft. Tebow is an elite elite elite athlete. If a team has the luxury to let him get ab's at a low level it doesn't hurt. a) most of the time the guys don't progress past A ball anyways b) he sells tix c) there is a shot (albeit a small one) he could progress simply because he was an elite baseball player at one point and he's still an elite athlete overall

if you're a believer in the 10,000 hours to master a craft, which I am, it is just a matter of giving him the reps to see how far along he can come. obviously because of his age he's behind the curve and likely never going to progress.
