my coach at UConn was this old grumpy man and he was the team usa pitching coach. he didn't recruit me, the assistants did. so when i got there they had told me i had a shot to be a weekend starter as a freshman (which was one of the reasons i went there rather than bigger baseball schools where i knew i'd only pitch weeekdays).

when he saw me 'bunny hop' for the first time, the coach stopped the scrimmage and just screamed 'what the fuck is that'. as a 17 year old, i was a bit mortified. then he brought me in the office and told me he could never let me pitch on his team if i threw like because it'd be too embarrassing for him to see.

needless to say, i was petrified and pretty much broke down and never played.

You should probably thank him for saving your arm for your future of slapping porn stars and choking bitches.

lol i hate old people and their old people thinking. Didnt like how you pitched. So much talent has probably been lost from idiots worrynig about insignificant things.

exact opposite tho. college was the worst time in my life, wouldn't want to ever go back

i was broken down mentally and pretty depressed. baseball was all i knew.

luckily it made me stronger after that.

plus if you didnt go through that you prob wouldn't have joined the ndl, ndlootp, gave us years of great single riccio stories...

not really something i 'thought of' consciously.

it was just how my body thought it was best to do it. i never had coaches who taught technique or fundamentals. i had coaches that taught us to run thru walls for our teammates and shit like that.

that guy is slightly more exaggerated cause his body actually slides out. i used to hop out and throw in one motion. i would load down when i turned back and then explode jump and throw. it was pretty comical but guys could never find the ball and i threw hard.

If we can get a video of younger, slimmer Nolie smacking that single to opposite field on Sun Sports, there's gotta be some footage of Riccio's bunny hop!!!

Just curious, did you give up more steals because of it? No difference? I know its not what you did, but the thought of you getting a proper crow-hop in for the pitch cracks me up
