In and out burger. Modesto though, why?

Moving does royally suck

Get the apartment Friday
Fly back to Orlando to assist with the moving company in 2 weeks
Fly back to ensure the moving company puts things in the storage unit accordingly
Apartment living for at least 6 months to a year
Move all again soon!

If you're paying(or your new employer) a moving company, why do you need to assist them?

It's more for helping Cathy wrap up all loose ends and help with the carry ons and checked baggage for the flight here.

Free place to stay and a lot more opportunities than Mid Michigan, not planning on being there more than two years. Would love to end up in Oregon, Washington, or somewhere else in California. Not tied down to anything or anyone so this is just my safest way out of being stuck in Michigan

Love it up and get yourself setup for the future of what you want in life. After going through this I am a big fan of relocating for the right reasons and opportunities. Especially since I am really loving the area way more than Orlando.

Ive never been there, no ties there, no family there. That being said, Ive always thought the pacific northwest would be an awesome place to live. Zero desire to go to Cali though (taxes/cost of living)

Yeah I think it's enough like Michigan that we would be comfortable there, but not Michigan so it's just better lol.

Cannot wait to go from 30 degrees to 60 either, I want to wear shorts everyday!

I love Michigan, actually. Lots of freshwater lakes, plenty of trails/rec areas, great golfing. Traverse City area is fantastic in the summer, as is most northern Michigan. My biggest gripe is the longer winters, by about February Im ready for spring

These are some of the reasons I love/hate Ohio.
Why my wife and I are moving back to SE Ohio where I grew up.
I want my son to grow up with ATVs and in the country as I did. It is not hillbilly country, but more rural then the city.

I'm pretty sure my son is going to grow up with a texas accent at this point.

I was just in Modesto. You should look for another Cali location. Not much happening there at all.

I miss Northeast Winters.

65-75 degrees daily high year round is pretty depressing in SoCal. Plus, I go months without setting foot on the beach and even longer without going in the ocean, so most of the weather benefit/location benefit is lost on me. The biggest plus is golf year round, and it doesn't outweigh losing seasons (IMO).

I was just in Modesto. You should look for another Cali location. Not much happening there at all.

Just trying to get out and experience new places, make some quick cash and get some job experience so I can move on to rhe next place. I think even boring modesto is a step up from a 35k city in middle of Michigan(that ive spent my whole live in)

Depends on who is around. My guess, if you are living in the city, it won't be too noticeable. Now, if you were in the country, better chance.

I'd like to get an acre or 2 of land if I could but I also am very enticed about this great area 5 miles from work that has every thing we would ever need and no commute.

Commute times is a big thing in and around Dallas. If you can spare the cash diff to live near your work, do it. Otherwise living outside the city would be a good investment.

Modesto isn't that much different than that...but you do have access to San Fran, San Jose, and a short and cheap flight to San Diego to have some fun.

It will be in Frisco which is about 5 miles from plano where I spend the most of my time at work.

It's one of the fastest growing cities in the nation and has everything we would need within a 1-2 mile radius and a cool little town.

Traffic is a beast right now driving from Arlington to plano but that will finally end Monday when I get the new place and move out of my sisters.
