See Beefy, this is why I can't have this debate with you. I love you to death, but I NEVER EVER EVER said anything remotely close to "we're going to beat MSU's @$$"
I was saying the exact OPPOSITE--that Michigan State would likely be our toughest game all year, and IF they could win that game THEN "I don't see us losing ANOTHER game", because winning that game would require our guys--in their 2nd game--to gel quickly. I have a ton of respect for Tom Izzo, I never once in my wildest dreams thought it would be anything less than a close game. He's a great coach and his teams are already hard to beat, especially playing as close to your area as we did (Chicago). I don't throw his name out to "get love for my coach"; I honestly wanted him if we didn't get Cal, I've always respected him.
See, if I was certain we were going to beat you....wouldn't I have taken that bet? And I'm also not going to bet on a game that is in another month (UofL) when all it takes is an injury or a suspension to flip the favorite in the game. That's not a smart bet to take, ever.
And when you say things like "Randle got owned", you make it very difficult for anybody to take your college basketball talk seriously. I'll let your own coach and player make the argument for me
"It was way easier for him,'' Payne said. "I couldn't touch him or force him off the block. I couldn't do anything. It was a matter of me, when he caught the ball, I could just try to wall him. If you try to wall an athlete as good as him, there's a good chance he's going to score, because as a defender you can't be aggressive at all.''
Michigan State coach Tom Izzo took the blame for not doubling Randle enough, as the 6-foot-9, 250-pounder was able to establish position deep in the post.
Payne picked up his third foul at the 18:55 mark of the second half with the Spartans up 44-34, and his fourth foul came with 9:23 left and the Spartans holding a 60-53 lead.
With Payne out, Kentucky pulled back to within 66-64 at the 5:06 mark before Payne re-entered.

That Smith dunk came outta nowhere, he'd done nothing before that. Was impressive for a guy that small.
I've not heard Rupp that loud in a looooong time. No Randle in the 2nd half (7/8 first half, 17 points, only miss was three) due to cramps, and Cats still dominated the Cards. Harrison twins showed up big today, easily the breakout game for them and the team as a whole.

I can't believe I'm gonna say this but UK is young but by March if this team keeps improving and gets some more experience it's definitely not a team you'd want to play come March.

As long as they keep showing the effort on both ends of the court that they did yesterday, and the willingness to play as a team, instead of just a group of guys who are talented.
Yesterday was the first time all year they've defended like that, and looked for each other the way they did. Not having Randle the 2nd half forced them to step it up and they did. Now they have about 9 days in a row of 3-a-days (Camp Cal) which has changed all the teams in the past in regards to their stamina, their unity, etc. Hopefully Randle's cramping issues end after this.
Still, a lot of really good teams this year--Ohio State, Cuse, Mich St, Dook, Arizona, Oklahoma State....gonna be a fun season to come.

If you're going to quote the rules, make sure you know how to read them right
Vacation Periods – Hour limitations do not apply during official institutional break periods when classes are not in session (i.e. fall, winter, spring break). For break sessions falling within a class week, limitations do apply to those days when classes are in session and students must be provided a day off (which may be a vacation day).
Rock Oliver will have them working their ass off in the gym.

Pitino dismisses Chane Behanan today after "repeated violations" of university policy.
After he was "indefinately suspended" for one game earlier this year, and two days after the UK game lulz. Pitino is a total clown.

Don't watch as much basketball as I did but that ending was great. Even when the KY guy threw the ball in the scoreboard and it got stuck. Was a monster dunk

Indiana fans thinking their program is still relevant as they storm the court
I heard that, when UK lost, the Indiana fans went back to Assembly Hall and stormed the court again.

Yeah that was a great play to end a miserable game (i think everyone who watched, fans and media alike, wanted to kill the shitty refs after it ended; no bearing on outcome, just awful all around and turned it into three hr game)

MSU team was in Chicago last night, and Izzo needed to get around town to watch a couple recruits. Apparently something wrong with his rental service, so he had my buddy (former manager living in the city) chauffeur him around while they watched a couple games yesterday. I was a little jealous

If he was out recruiting in Chicago I hope he brought his checkbook.
