Re: MLB 2017 Thread
ESPN describes the catch as miraculous. I mean seriously, I will go with great catch but miraculous is a bit much. As far as home run robberies the degree of difficulty was not that high

Miraculous is a bit much but i give it a very high level degree of difficulty with that oddly shaped area and that anyone rarely puts it out there let alone in that exact spot to rob a HR from.wdoupis wrote:ESPN describes the catch as miraculous. My first thought is that it was easier than a normal outfield wall. It seems like it would come into his peripheral vision, making it easier than if the wall was all behind him.

Re: MLB 2017 Thread
It was slightly better than an average play by a MLB'er. Is that what it was? If so then I'll enjoy the catch. But to make it out to be something better than it was then no, I'm not enjoying it.shel311 wrote:Can't we just enjoy the catch for what it was?

just because they make it look easy doesn't mean its slightly better than averageGeorgesGoons wrote:

Slightly better than average

Re: MLB 2017 Thread
damn we got high expectations in the NDL. Thats an incredible catch. Add the fact it leaves the park at an extremely high exit velocity.

Judge is a freak. He shouldnt maintain cause his ISO is 100 pts better than Stanton last yr and his BABIP is near 500, but hes still a fucking freak. Probably also juicing but good for him.

Assuming not but who knows anymore in this game but I am leaning towards the dynamics of the baseball have changed.nick wrote: Probably also juicing but good for him.
The massive amount of HRs and the types of guys hitting them is startling such as back to the Sosa/McGwire immersion season.
Or are we being negative and truly guys are throwing harder than ever before and the baseball player is more athletic and better than ever?
I can't see that dramatic shift in such a short time to think its the latter.
Re: MLB 2017 Thread
the balls are "juiced". A lot of pitchers are complaining and when theres smoke there's fire. Also a ton of blister injuries (dunno if that has to do with it). Theres pop in the ball but Judge is also hitting like 300 pts better than he ever did in college. I get he's 6'7 so eventually he'll fill his frame out but its pretty drastic from a negative WAR in 40 games to arguably the best power hitter in the league.
