UFC Dillashaw v Cruz

Post by kdog36 »

Dillashaw got screwed. Yeah a few take downs but Cruz did not do near enough to take the belt. stupid.

Rigged so they can have a PPV and make you pay for the rematch. ugh

Thought Cruz won it 3-2. Not sure I see a 3rd round for Dillashaw. I'd pay to see a rematch. I think Cruz only comes back better and takes an easy decision from him.

I thought TJ won the 1st, 4th and 5th rounds. The 1st could have gone either way though. I'd pay to see a rematch. I think TJ needs to go the first 3 or 4 rounds with zero head or body kicks, "head hunt" on that leg. I think it turned it around in the 4th.

I don't see how either fighter won 4 rounds 5 hough as the judges saw for each.

I agree, I definitely don't see either with 4 rounds. I haven't looked at any stats from the fight yet, but I felt pretty confident last nigh that it was 1, 2, 3 for Cruz, 4, 5 for Dillashaw.

On a side note, I really can't imagine how frustrating that fight was for TJ. Cruz's movement was so good. Cruz must have one helluva fight camp to still have that kind of ability and to be able to show up in a title fight and perform like that after all of his time off. By the end of the round 2, I thought Cruz was destined to be KO'd. I felt like he was definitely up 2-0, but it looked like he was starting to fatigue and fighting with that style was going to be his ultimate downfall against a guy like TJ. But somehow, even at what seemed to be 60% speed, he was still slipping punches.

I didn't think anyone did enough to win the first round, that's why I give it to the champ. Round 4 and 5 were decisive TJ rounds IMO. TJ landed the bigger shots, and during the fight they were pretty even in landed significant strikes if I remember right when Rogan was talking about it. Definitely needs an immediate rematch though.

Cruz hasn't lost an MMA fight in almost a decade. :-) The reason TJ has the belt is because they made Barao the interm champ when Cruz got hurt in 2012, then they promoted to Barao when Cruz got hurt again in the lead up to the match with Barao in January, 2014. Before forfeiting his belt, Cruz beat Faber and gave Mighty Mouse his only loss. If it wasn't for that terrible string of injuries, it's pretty likely that Cruz would be the only person to have owned that Bantamweight title.

Plus, Cruz had a foot that was really messed up from what he was saying, and still it was an even fight. I honestly saw it as a draw. For either fighter to get 49-46 is a joke; for them to both get it....wtf

Btw, I was rooting for Cruz because he whipped Faber's ass, but he is soooooooooooooooooo boring to watch
