i love fifa and all, but they say this shit yearly and I dont ever feel any improvements. Its like NHL (made same place i believe), they say oh its changed but I can still score a goal everytime hiding the puck then shooting.

I'll wait til it comes out, but looks solid. I'm developing a greater like/respect for soccer too.

played it early this morning before work and it was okay. The hardcore fifa guys say it sucks but the movement of the players is a bit different. You can just hold R2 down and cut thru guys. To me its getting closer and closer to a tru passing game and not just a lob and score and run as fast as you can game.

I am sure Jsense will insert soccer terms where I did not. lol

Played it last night. I felt it was VERY similar. The first touch wasn't quite as clean as last year, the passing wasn't quite as accurate, but the shooting seemed improved and more clean. Player control after switching on crosses felt much better. Ibra was a monster. Mike is going to love that. Defensively, the off-ball CPU contain seemed to suck in way too fast and leave holes, though in both instances where I was burned, it was by Messi, so that may have had something to do with it. I only played a few games, but I enjoyed them all. 2hrs with the FIFA demo brought far more fun than my entire NCAA season, lol. I do hope the crossing stuff wasn't as easy as it seemed using Ibra though... that would be bad if everyone plays like that. Overall, FIFA is usually a great product and this didn't seem to disappoint. Looking forward to the game and will definitely be playing more of the demo before launch.

It says 3 days early so considering midnight is the cutoff deal for Tuesday release? I would say sometime Saturday? But I seem to remember DLing ncaa on Friday evening?

My thoughts.....

Pace will no longer be the killer on offense--but it will be on defense. Unless you have top-notch dribblers in the midfield, a team with pacey players will be able to swarm and take the ball away. So guys who have pace AND strength in the midfield will be crucial (Ramires, Yaya, etc). Guys like Agbonlahor will no longer be as effective because while they might be able to run past the defense, but his touch isn't very good and his shooting is poor. But in the midfield and defense, where guys can load up on a Brazil group and put high pressure, it's going to be very effective.

I do like that shooting is more pure this year. I scored a great curling shot w El Shaarawy to the near post that wouldn't have been possible in the past versions. Long shots are more natural and have better chances now. Keepers don't react as well if they can't see the ball. I like the defensive positioning better too.

I like the game a lot more. Passing and control players like myself will be able to finally work it around without being countered nonstop, and the ability to shield/turn w stronger players makes them more valuable. Can't wait to see how this translates to online.

You may want to renegotiate. This game suits my best "Club" role perfectly--sitting in deep midfield, winning the ball, and distributing on the break was my best role w you guys last year, and that's going to be very important w the new emphasis of this game. Sprinting the wings won't be as effective now.

Either way I'll be on club but I wouldn't mind running some co-ops as well. I know Reign and Dan will be doing it.
