Playstation Network is going down....again :-(

Come one, come all. Talk about anything not league or video game football related here.

jsence - I think the overwhelming response is that you are making this TOO big of a deal. We're all big boys. We all have our own opinions. So, there is no reason for you to get all over us for stuff that isn't likely to occur. You seem like the guy that went and bought surplus at Costco for fears of Y2K and told everyone to do the same. See my point?

What a terrible example. You losing your rights of freedom doesn't compare to computers not being able to understand binary code or whatever the y2k bug was.

you guys admitted to having no opinion on this bill / not even reading the bill, then you make such SHEEP comments like "you're over blowing it". How do you even know?

When you have law professors writing editorials about how dangerous this bill is, no....I don't think I'm making too big a deal of this. Maybe if more people were paying attention I wouldn't have to make such a big deal about it.

And Shel, it got changed to the very thing you said, so.....yeah, I figured it was you.

Btw, I love how I'm the one belittling you; all you've done is take shots at me this whole thread and have yet to add one shred of a meaningful contribution to it.

.....you've embraced the fact that you're a board bully; you've poked at me this whole thread; why wouldn't I think it was you that did it?

I'm done feeding the troll. If you didn't do it then fine, but don't feign being shocked that someone would think it was you when you've celebrated the fact that you're the biggest antagonist on this boards. There's debating, and there's arguing.

I disagree with that part. As Jay has said, there is a reason this is being sped through Congress like they are stealing from the cookie jar. There is a reason every single major, influential website there is is staunchly against this.

This isn't just some random act.

Actually they haven't.....they pulled their "stated" support, but they still support it as a member of ESA....just like Go Daddy tried to do a few days ago when they claimed to "stop' supporting it.

Via ESA they'll still donate money to it. Sony helped write the bill, you think they're going to suddenly stop supporting it?

Until the ESA is out, those big three gaming companies are still in.

They "stopped" supporting it only after they saw about half their clients leave in a 24 hour span. Again, still supporting it via ESA.

From what I can see from the ESA member list GoDaddy has nothing to do with the ESA. Actually, from my own research GoDaddy now actively opposes the bill.

Maybe do your own research instead of getting it straight from anonymous or your source.

I do my own research, I take what I'm given and I check up on it.

Again, GoDaddy (along with Sony) were actively involved in writing the bill. I'm sorry, but saying "we support it" vehemently until they have a mass exodus of customers leave, and then suddenly changing their tune, isn't "no longer supporting it"--it's "we have to stop saying we support this so we don't lose any more customers". They helped write the stupid bill, they obviously support it and what it stands for, but they want to survive as a business.

And that's why many of the customers who left GoDaddy aren't going back.

You're killing me.

Then what the fuck is this all about? What do they want Sony to do? Invent a time machine and not write the fucking bill? Because obviously pulling support and publicly saying "WE DON'T SUPPORT THE BILL" means, according to you, "WE SUPPORT THE BILL".

You are officially delusional.

Ok Dan, let me give you an analogy:

I am a coach of a football team. I say that I am against white players being allowed to play college football, they're too slow. I am so against white players on my team that I help write a rule banning them from NCAA football. I talk for weeks about how much I believe in this rule. I donate money to the people who can make it happen, LOTS of money. Finally, I post a message on my school's athletic website saying how much I agree with this rule, and why it should be allowed to happen.

Then, it backfires on me--everyone else denounces me, players start transferring from my team, boosters stop supporting my program.

An hour later, I take down the post. Two days later, after months and months of this belief.....I suddenly say how I'm so much against this, that the rule that I HELPED WRITE doesn't meet the goals that I really was after, which was to simply get more speed into my team.

Are you gonna buy the load of crap I'm spewing? Or are you going to view it as me trying to save my program (my job, my company) and backtracking when the sh*t hit the fan?

Like they say.....sh*t talks, money walks. In this case, GoDaddy saw the money walk and they had to pull a 180. They can say all they want that they don't support it--THEIR MONEY AND THEIR ACTIONS SPEAK OTHERWISE!!!
