Today's Q: Jersey and you

Post by Hoos »

I was reading the thread about if the jerseys being sold by some website was fake or not. It got me thinking about jerseys. I have never been a jersey guy. I have zero interest in collecting them and/or wearing them. They just aren't my thing.

So, do you wear jerseys?

PS: Please refrain from all Trendon and Jersey jokes even though they are all hilarious.

Never been a jersey guy either.

More of a team shirt or jacket guy but only when it's the season of the sport.

Wearing team stuff when it's not in season is lame.

Yea, I have plenty of UVA gear. Mostly shirts, sweats, and a lightweight jacket. However, I can't stand the giant winter jackets with the huge team logo on the back. They just look like shit to me.

Same here except I do own one jersey and that is an Ohio State football one. I only usually wear it from September to middle of January then it gets put in the closet until next football season.

Not me. I find them too expensive, and would rather spend that money on just regular team gear like shirts, long sleeves, hoodies, jackets, etc. If I was an NFL season ticket holder or went to NFL games a lot, I'd probably own a few.

I have a Florida Jersey from the 96 championship, it's one of the fake replica ones you get on their site and I have an authentic Tebow home jersey I picked up at the Stadium. I only wear the jersey on game day, but I do wear Gator gear often even if out of season. Especially when on the road for work in SEC country. I like chatting to people who notice I'm a gator fan or represent their favorite team. It just usually ends up a conversation of how badass the SEC is and how weak all the other conferences are.

Nasty you may think it's lame but that's just how you Miami fans are. When you're a fan of an SEC team, football is all year long.

I own about 40 soccer jerseys, a few UK basketball jerseys (which are signed, never worn), and a few Braves jerseys and a Dallas Stars jersey/sweater. I don't wear them usually unless I'm going to a game, watching the game with friends, or watching it at a sports bar or something. Never wear them just as regular outfits, except on a rare occasion with a soccer jersey. But I'm with Corey, I usually just wear t-shirts or hoodies when it comes to most of my gear.

Actually about to order this one next week:

Dont often wear jerseys, but Nebraska football branded clothing is about 50% of most people's wardrobe here.

Never been an autograph guy, for whatever reason. If David Wright, Marty Brodeur, or Tom Brady were to offer me their autograph, I'd say no thanks but thanks for all of your work. I do have (had) an awesome autographed picture of me shooting hoops with Rory Sparrow and Billy Thompson at MSG but my cunt mother stole it and never gave it back to me.

Edit: Seikaly autographed it with Sparrow; Thompson did not.

I have two Nebraska polos that are nice because the logo isn't smeared all over the place. I could wear it out to a restaurant and only the astute eye would see the 'N' ... otherwise, it just looks like a red shirt.

I have bought two jerseys in my lifetime. I have never worn either one. Both are still hanging in my closet with the tags attached. One is a Darren McFadden Arkansas jersey and the other a Roger Clemens all-star jersey from the Detroit All-Star game a few years back.

I heard a lot about how people thought guys over 18 looked like douches wearing jerseys. I don't necessarily think that and jerseys can be cool to wear to games or drafts. I don't think I would ever wear one out to the movies or to eat though.

I have two replica sweaters and a practice jersey from when I played roller hockey. They got a lot of use for several years and but they've only been worn to an occasional game in the last 5.

I deal a lot with a company out of Lincoln named Fiserv (use to be ITI). I think every one of them is a Nebraska fan. I use to love sneaking in a Bill Callahan comment each conversation. That man was hated.

My sister is bringing some of my hockey sweaters down. I'll take some photos when I get them framed.

I have two Niedermayers (home and away), a Christmas Tree Muller, a home Mike Modano (Dallas), a then-home Neely, a 1997 Eastern Conference All-Star jersey with my name and number on it, a 2002 USA Chelios, a 2002 USA Deadmarsh, and a home Joe Thornton Sharks.
