Continue What You're Doing
Georgia has had an incredible season both in the regular season and in the NDL Cup. Georgia brings the #1 offense to the big game averaging 36.5 points per game. Halfback Knowshon Moreno leads the charge with 1335 yards rushed and 13 touchdowns. Quarterback Matthew Stafford is completing passes at a crazy 81% and with a 22/8 TD/INT ratio, Georgia is poised on offense to attack the Tigers. Georgia needs to be relentless on the Clemson Tigers and pound when they have too, and hit the passes when they count. If Georgia continues at the pace they are, this game should get out of reach early.
Defense:
Control The Tempo
Clemson has a double headed assault from the backfield which everyone expects to face when they are playing Clemson. Rashad Jones needs to keep a watch on the Tigers as he leads the team in tackles and interceptions. Controlling the pace and forcing Clemson out of the run early could prove to be huge in the end.
Clemson’s Keys to the Game:
Offense:
Don't Be Intimidated
You know they're waiting for you. So far this season, the double headed assault has been led by CJ Spiller. Spiller has 100 yard rushing average going into this game and 1.2 TD's a game. Quarterback Cullen Harper is going to have to play better if Clemson wants to remain in the ball game. The Tiger's key is to not be intimidated and not be afraid to attack the defense if they want to pull the upset.
Defense:
Create Mistakes
I know it sounds like a broken record but turnovers make the difference. Coming into this game Clemson is very efficient on offense, this is where Clemson needs to change things up. Ricky Sapp and co are going to have to create more pressure on Stafford and their offense. Chris Chancellor and the defensive backs are going to need to take some passes away and hopefully return one to help create a buzz for the Tigers.
Prediction:
Georgia 45 - Clemson 17
