Re: Penguins OD in NCAA 13
We are on to players leaving, I will be out nearly all of Wednesday so I doubt I'll have a chance to get on Wednesday night. We will advance to week 1 of offseason recruiting Thursday afternoon.
Re: Penguins OD in NCAA 13
Next year Pengy, I think we should turn off contracts. It kinda defeats the purpose of the smaller teams if everyone just jumps ship to the same power schools after 2-3 years.
You and I and KDog are the only ones who have stayed at the smaller schools and built them up.

I don't think it defeats the purpose. I think it is exactly what was intended. You can stay and build your team up or try and get your dream job. Did you fault Urban Meyer or Nick Saban for moving on to greener grasses?

No, but they also didn't have full control over their teams, recruiting, etc when they became a coordinator at a big school like we do (full control in user games, etc). Also, we have other ODs for those big-time jobs. Pengy has always wanted guys to stay at the schools they take but hasn't forced them to.

Tulsa loses a lot in this year's senior class, but they talk back the one junior who wanted to go.
Luckily, the incoming class will make up for many of the holes, if not almost being a like-for-like for some of them (such as DE). The lines may get weaker for a season or so, but the skill positions are going to get even stronger.

They were rated a B+ because of like four players. Trust me, I had to build them through recruiting and I still have holes in my team. My best LB is rated 79.

I was going to say the same thing. The team was stacked.Wasted Memory wrote:Yeah, good job building up that B+ rated Tulsa team you tookjsence2 wrote:

The team had a QB and two HB highly rated, and one WR. The defense had holes and the line wasn't great. The 2nd year, the team had gaping holes that I barely filled; my 2nd recruiting class was what saved my program. They were a 2* program with one pitch that was above a B. You could say something to me if I'd ridden them to a good season and LEFT....but I ddin't.
Mike, you came in and took over a BCS program with weapons galore, had one good season, and immediately left, so you can't really talk.

You don't have to rationalize to us why you took Tulsa. 85+ players galore.jsence2 wrote:BIGmike wrote:I was going to say the same thing. The team was stacked.Wasted Memory wrote:Yeah, good job building up that B+ rated Tulsa team you tookjsence2 wrote:

Re: Penguins OD in NCAA 13
The most likely change for the OD in next years game is having everyone start off with 1* teams only. While I like the idea of building up a lower team into a contender, I also wasn't too crazy that in the very 1st season in this game FIU and Tulsa could make it to the national championship game so easily.

Since recruiting started I keep getting an error message when I try to log in on the console. It works fine on the computer though.
