FIFA 21

Post by LetsGoPeay »

Anybody playing?

I’m super addicted to FUT. D5 player. Typically S1/G3 in WL. In other words, I suck at FIFA.

I was big into FUT on PS4, before they started doing the WL stuff. I tried it when that came about, but the time it took to be competitive was crazy. I think it was like 20 games between Friday night/Sun night right?

I didn't even buy FIFA this version, because I knew ahead of time that NBA 2K wasn't going to transfer characters. I loved playing Club on FIFA. But when I started playing Rec/Park/ProAm in MyCareer on NBA 2K, it made me hate how they set up Club for FIFA. We'd play so many games with 4-5 guys (we, being my post-NDL group, sorry guys), but it would be frustrating, because it usually just came down to which GKs/CBs were less incompetent. With 2K, we didn't have to deal with CPU players and up until this year, when they did implement the option for AI in Rec, we could often over come 1 inept user. If you did a drop in game in Club, you'd have 5 jackasses calling for the ball clear across the pitch and the CPU would do a 180 and just launch it to whoever. At least with a shitty ball player in Rec (NBA 2K pickup), you could find ways to work around them.

I was REALLY excited last year when I saw that FIFA was launching Volta. It looked like it was going to be the NBA 2K MyCareer equivalent, which would have been amazing. 3-5 player short-sided soccer games with customizable gear, etc so they could financially support it (as if they don't make an absolute killing on FUT). But then they said it was PvP, which was shocking. Big missed opportunity IMO. If they ever get that implemented right, I'd probably love it.

Same. I used to be huge into FUT but this year, between the sweat, the crappy content (it's gone way downhill this year), and the game just not being that good, I went about two months without really playing. I also simply don't have the time to "work the market" to afford the players needed to really be competitive.

I got back into it again this past week after Boateng came out because it allowed me to redo my team, and I've played more over the past 48 hours than I did the previous two months. I'm D4 right now, but I've also played so few Rivals games that I've yet to even qualify for WL once.

I've had a lot of fun with the Max Chem friendly because you can use anybody, anywhere, and just get to enjoy your entire club without having to worry about links.

As for WL, I won't touch Champs until Team of the Season comes out because the "rewards" before then are simply not worth the stress and the physical fatigue it causes. 30 games in a weekend is brutal.

All that said, always down to play some friendlies or Squads, hit me up on PSN (jsence17)

My current squad (4231 IG with Gnabry behind Ben Yedder): https://www.ea.com/fifa/ultimate-team/w ... M:FFA21PS5

This is my regular team for rivals and WL. It’s the first year I’ve succumbed to doing a PL squad. I usually end up with a La Liga team by the end of the game cycle no matter how I start out. Son and Gabby Jesus switch in game.

This is my silver team. I actually enjoy it more. Silver Stars has become my favorite objective to do each week.

Nick...FUTMAS (called Freeze this year) was a letdown from previous years. Too many guys from the same leagues and nations.

As for Silver Squads, I just got into it this week when I finally built a team to work on the pack for using Silvers in Squad Battles. I got the Kittel this week but my team isn't nearly as good as some.

Should've been Theo Hernandez but it was fan vote.

Davies has done absolutely nothing since the new season started. Zero goals, zero assists in 18 competitive matches, vs 4/6 in 23 competitive matches and much, much higher-rated performances in a tougher league for Theo. Madrid were stupid as hell for giving up on him when they did.
