Shift just got the game, so I'm waiting to hear from him tonight if he wants in or not.

If not, we will roll with 8. Would like to have more than 8 but it is what it is.

And Daniel texted me and said he's not playing. Sucks but oh well.

Looks like we have two conflicts out of the 8 teams, I have updated the first post to reflect this. Six people will get their first choice, the other two will get second choice.

Ok, no problem.

What are we looking at for a format? Same as the last one but maybe only 2 of 4 advance?

Hopefully we can get multiple ones of these in.

Whatever format people want.

We can do two groups of four teams (six matches per team) and then two from each group advance.

We can do two groups of four teams (six matches per team) and then everyone advanced based on seeding.

We can do one group of eight (14 matches per team) and then four teams advance.

I vote for whatever will be the quickest. The faster we move these along and keep interest high, the better.

I'm the opposite... I vote for more games overall in a shorter time span. 1 group of 8, with 4 teams advancing, is awesome, imo.

Did you think that I forgot what you did to me in the playoffs?

Sorry about that, I honestly just missed you as I was copying things over (was working at the time). I've got it updated.

Well seeit is out, and shift isn't ready to play humans yet (still learning the game). I'm going to contact a few people and see if they want to join. Llad is still not on PS4 yet so he's not in.

Worst case scenario, I'll drop out and run it for you guys to have 8.

I'll also hit up some of the guys I met from the FIFA tournament here in Louisville weekend before last (I won, got a nice fat gift card to World Soccer Shop despite playing on the crapbox 360 and it's horrible controller ), I know a few of them have the game on PS4 so I'll see if they want to join the NDL. We could use some more FIFA players in here.

Why not just run it with 9 teams? 1 pool, 16 games total? Maybe 6 advance, with top 2 getting byes? Or just top 4 advance.

Just because it's the world cup doesn't mean it has to be exactly like it. Work with what we have and what gets us the most entertainment.

I agree with reign, but get shift's ass in here.
It is a free league. What does he have to lose in playing other humans?

And you know I am just learning.

Dude, I cannot name the positions or tell you anything about soccer except that I understand what offsides is.
Other than that, I know none of the penalties, have no clue how to look at guys and see who would be better where.
I know 1 name in real life soccer and that was David Beckham.
Couldn't even tell you if he still plays.

I really wish I was sandbagging.
jsence had to help me set up my team last tourney and I will ask for help this time too.
Playing the video game, there are tons of button combinations, so I am trying to remember a few of them and just keep on trying.
