Talked to a friend who runs a consulting firm. Per his lawyer, this was expected and is just the next step in what will be a LONG fight.

Now, DK/FD file an emergency injunction/appeal which likely will be granted. Then it will go to trial, then it will go to appeals, then it will go to the SC most likely before it's all done--unless a deal is struck to set up regulation for the industry and to appease everyone involved in the government (i.e. they get their cut)

it will most certainly 'last', just not how it is today.

there will be more hands in the pot from the state gov'ts.
I just don't see how this can be justifiably any different than online poker

Decided to play some NBA DFS for the 1st time in a while last night, took my toughest beat to date.

I played a few entries into a 50/50 on FD. I was up by about .3 points over the cut off point with the final game coming to an end, right on the edge. SAC is up to 2 and inbounding the ball with under 10 seconds left. Darren Collison is their best FT shooter and I have him and he's only 3% owned, good sign for me. SAC is clearly looking for him, he breaks open, ball is thrown to him and as it hits his hands, Marv Albert says something along the lines of the ball going to Collison and he's fouled...then all of a sudden right before he's fouled, he fumbles the ball, loses it on a turnover, -1 point. Since he's only 3% owned, that knocks me then .7 points under the cut off point. :(

I had one last shot with Melo shooting a 3 at the buzzer, but he missed.

Wanted to post this here to keep track, more for myself than anything. I took cashing in a tourney as a win, double ups (x2) and quad ups (x4) also played. The records are for unique lineups in a particular game. Turns out Im pretty mediocre, which Im cool with. I just wanted some cheap entertainment throughout the season

NFL
Tourney: 6-5
x2: 2-1
x4: 2-2

NBA
x2: 1-1

So you've cashed in 6 of 11 tournies?

That's a nice start!

Yeah, before I had any idea what I was doing I just did those. Then I realized the top 22% or so paid out, so I went to the quad up since that have a better payout (unless you managed to get in the top 300 out so of 15k). After finishing a couple just outside the payout I moved to the double ups, which is what I'm playing now for the most part

That's the way you have to look at it. The top 1% of players win 91% of the money in DFS. The commercials with "so and so won on only a $5 bet" are crap. You're not gonna win big, but if you play it like you do, where you're just looking to have fun and maybe win $20 throughout the year, then you're good to go. Just have to manage expectations.

The bigger players live off the smaller players. It's almost a ponzi scheme format. The sites thrive on new players and new money. When the new players and new money runs out, it's gonna get ugly. That's why they advertise so damn much. The more new users, the more new money.

anywhere that you put your money(or attempt to withdraw) 'legally' you're going to have to provide a tax id number.

Dalton injury destroyed me today, would have been in the money easy for a double up

How big of the double ups are you doing in reference to amount of participants?

Varies. For NFL, I play 3 different lineups. One is for Thurs-Mon games (2270 entries), a second for the Sun 1pm-Mon games (5680 entries), and a third for Sun 430-Mon games (500 entries). If I play multiple entries, its usually to the one which I feel best about. Luckily Ive guessed correctly on that front more often than not.

For NBA its been 1000 entries, unless I miss out then I go to the 50 entry game

Went 4/4 on NBA last night, and cashed in the DK Millionaire as well as all four of my other games on DK/FH.

Not a bad day

It's looking like I'll safely get a clean 4-0 sweep this weekend, thanks to a core of Wilson, D Johnson, A brown and J Reed. All were double ups, and of all the contests I only put in multiple entries on one because I really wasn't feeling the lineup this week. I've given up basketball for the time being

x4: 2-2

NBA

are you quitting NBA cause you're losing or because you don't enjoy it?

Little bit of both. Like I mentioned, I dont watch games/follow the sport really, so I was throwing lineups together blindly (meaning really going on nothing other than numbers). Not only was I losing, but in a couple of em I was finishing in the 40's out of 50 (not saying that should make a difference, but perhaps it makes it seem like Im way off when Im getting it handed to me like that). Figured Id give it a rest until after football season
