NDL's new Look!

The NDL has a new look.
I worked with holmey and the other admins to come up with the template.

Please provide any feedback as this is our community.




Open Issues:

The "members" section still doesn't work, any idea on this?
When you click "members" and you click on a letter, it comes up with a page not found error. has done this for probably two years now.


Suggestions:

Put a mark forums/topics read on the View unread posts page.
Sometimes there are threads listed that I don't care about reading, so now, I have to go back to the board index and then mark them read.

Submit button on the opposite side when submitting an entry in a thread.
Holmey said we are not changing this. Many other forums are this way as well so it is something we all just need to get used to.

Can we also add a "View New Posts" link on the form that pops up AFTER you submit a reply to a thread?

On the old forums when viewing unread posts, you could see which section each thread was in. Peay's "You want entertainment" thread made me think of it. It would be nice to know if that thread is in the female forums before I click on it
Holmey made it so that it now shows you which forum it is in.

Only biggie that seems to be missing: from the "View unread posts" page, on each thread I don't see the link to "jump to first unread post", only the first post or latest post, I think?
If you have 10 unread posts, there should be 10 clickable icons from the View Unread Posts page(not inside each thread, before that) that say something like "view first unread post".
This should appear now. It is a little orange icon to the left of the thread title. If you have unread posts, this will show, if all the posts have been read, this will not be present.
There is also an icon that looks like two pieces of paper with a red arrow out to the right. Just to the left of the name of the latest poster in that particular thread. This will take you to the latest post in a thread.

This has been fixed. holmey put a view new posts link at the bottom of every page.

I found the link at the top of the categories on the Board Index page, but it's missing once you are inside a thread.

View new posts is there, as Whit just posted, it is at the top of the Board Index page, but not inside a thread.
Was it inside a thread before?

Just above the top post on the right? Is that what you're talking about?

Before, for example: say there was a 2 page threadthat I've read completely, but i'm gone for a few hours, and when I come back, that thread is 10 pages long.

On the old board, you could click the little orange icon, and it would take you to the first post in that thread that is unread since your last visit.

On the old boards, it was also available before you clicked in a thread, saves a click on every thread you jump into.

It is there shel, but you have to be within a thread.
