Re: The Pressure Is On, LLC
The one thing I loathe about doing this job is selling myself and the work I do. But at the same time I actually love the process of selling myself and the company. Went and talked with 6 companies today:
Will go out and start cleaning on Saturday for a 1 time demo. Not worried about getting this one as I fill their need and I know I am good enough to do it to their standard.
Another company wants me to put in a bid, nobody is cleaning them now so things look good here if they want to fork over the money to look good going down the road.
Two more companies clean their own so no chance there.
The decision maker for another company wasn't available so I am guessing 30% shot at getting this one.
And the one that will set me for the year is Old Dominion. 60 Day Cabs and over 100+ trailers. This is the one I have no clue how to bid because of the quantity. I'm usually at $35 for a day cab and $45 for a trailer. I may just do $25 bi-weekly for each piece and $30 for each piece monthly. Hope I don't screw this one up

Re: The Pressure Is On, LLC
After google deactivated my business and going thru some back and forth with them. Finally got it added to google
https://www.google.com/search?client=fi ... +On%2C+LLC
Also learned some bad news last week. Our big account, Hy-Vee, is closing all their fulfillment centers (4 in total). I guess there was enough bitching from customers that they finally said screw it and closed the fulfillment center. I was hoping they would have distributed all the vehicles to each of the Hy-Vee stores around town but they are just going to sell the trucks.
I put in my bid for Old Dominion and will conduct a demo for them on Wednesday. I noticed they hadn't opened up my quote so I stopped in and talked with the manager again. He said he never received it for some reason, I explained that his companies spam filter may have filtered it out. That's when I offered up a demo and he was excited to see the results. I told him I was happy to give a demo because they sell themselves.
May also be picking up Dohrn as well. They are a LTL trucking company and have 19 day cabs and 11 straight trucks. That'll be a nice and easy $700+ 4-5 hour day.

Re: The Pressure Is On, LLC
Head to Old Dominion tomorrow to give a demo, wish me luck. I quoted at $22.50 per truck/trailer. They say they are paying $19 per. I may go down to $18.50 to get the gig as I am only spending ~$3.75 per day cab and ~$6.00 per trailer (if they are completely dirty) on soaps, gas and overhead.
My thought process is they are probably getting them done for $19.50-$20.00 a piece. If I come in at $18.50 that's $1110 (done monthly) for the Day Cabs and $1850 for the trailers (done quarterly). $5180 quarterly and just under $21k a year for one account. This makes up for losing my grocery store account when they closed up shop by $9k yearly.

On the bright side of all this Dos Equis talk. I believe I nailed that demo today and should be washing their trucks shortly. Guy was impressed with the tank whitening and tire black from the degreaser. Now we'll see if they really want to switch and what corporate says. Aaaaah, the wait game.....

I'm going over and saying your initial offer came in at $19.
Just taking the contrarian route, you probably went with the standard $18.50
