Got my car inspected today and they had a tip option lmao

I actually did tip because he did pass my truck with no muffler and 5% tint but i was still confused

Yea, I got a guy for my 5% tint, so I always throw him a few extra bucks every year when I get my inspection.

I am a super generous tipper but man we have gotten out of control. Everywhere you go every register prompts you to the what percent tip before it closes and for the first time ever I just clicked no tip. Felt like a bad ass and an asshole at the same time. Not sure what the right call is here. I’m happy to tip but if all someone is doing is taking your order at a register it seems insane to give the same 20% as an actual server or a valet guy.

100% do not tip if all they are doing is taking my order. Just like the whole round-up to the nearest dollar for whatever cause. One was for a veteran organization and the lady had the balls to ask why I don't support veterans. I just laughed at her and said I did for 21 years.

I do consider myself a pretty good tipper. Even with mediocre service I tip at least 15%. If it's great service I've tipped as much as 50% on a $150 dinner. I never leave $0.00. If it's absolutely horrible I leave whatever change is in my pocket, or give $0.07 on a debit card receipt. I think it's more of a dickhead move to leave very little over nothing. It shows that yes, you didn't forget to tip. And it shows what I thought of your service.

Just another way to pass wage increases and product costs onto the consumer, even if it's not directly. Just having that option give them some leverage to offer less on an hourly rate vs competitors that don't.

With that said... it's situational for me. My basic rule is that if I'm at your counter, you're not getting a tip. The exception to that would be if they hooked me up on something (yeah, it's rewarding their behavior of giving away product, but that's not my problem). When my basic bowl of 2x meat and 2x cheese is intentionally rang up as a standard bowl or "three pointer" because I didn't get all of the other toppings, etc. Or if my kid is being super picky at Subway and custom making a goofy sub and the staff entertains all of the non-sense, that's worth a few bucks too.

Also, I'm with George on other tipping. I never leave $0, to me that gets brushed off easily. Leaving a dollar or to is the "Good Job, Good Effort" of tipping and sends a clear message.

I am with you guys. I usually leave 20% if it is a pretty normal situation. I leave more if they took care of me. Many waiters do not charge for pop or my kids for refills on milk, etc. Then I tip way more.
If I am at a fast food restaurant, sorry, I am not tipping. This goes to Reign's point, if I am at your counter....
And just like you guys, I never leave 0.
I always leave something and if your service is shitty, I leave very little so my message is clearer that you sucked.

I'm amazed every time I go do a physical. My body should be donated to science when I die at 128 years old. There is zero reason why my cholesterol, sugar levels, liver levels, etc.. should be as good as they are. Blood pressure was 104/60. Haven't worked out in years (if you don't include my work). It pisses the wife off because I eat, drink, smoke what I want.

I was going to post this. I don't think Article 5 will be invoked here. I think it will be a "sternly" stated message to the russian government with a "red line" type of wording if it happens again. Ukrainian President (not going to try and butcher his name) pretty much is saying that NATO needs to do something. Don't believe we are there yet, not with this. It may have been a 2 errant rockets and not deliberate but needs to be addressed at the UN level and an joint message from NATO. The US should 100% be firm on this one.
