Kids

Post by ajalves »

Sons are 11 and 8. Pretty much skin and bones. They are seeming like they are just now starting to "care". Some fun videos nontheless.

We try not to smother them (its tougher than it sounds as I was a sports psycho when i was young)

my 8 year old

Double over the LF head that my 11 year old decides is good enough to be a triple

Good stuff man if my kids play sports I'll be fifty times more nervous than I ever was when I played.

I was sitting at my youngest's game last night (last vid) and i must say. 90% of parents are a complete embarrassment. Some of the coaches too. This is the 1st season I havent coached them since they started playing, and it wil be the last.

I cant knock these guys cause they are out there volunteering. However, the bottom line is they are fucking clueless. The kids on the teams dont come out the other end of the season having learned much of anything.

Parents are screaming at ump and badgering the shit out of their kids WHILE they are hitting.

Yep, you ought to see some of the decisions made in my kids' baseball games. I don't get nervous at all during their games. I'm just glad they're having fun even if my daughter's idea of having fun at a baseball game is doing cartwheels in the outfield. She wants so badly to be a DH.

fuck that shit... you guys are better than me! i'm not going to be embarrassing to my kids or a stage dad or anything like that but they'll for sure be taking ground balls at age 3 whether they think they like it or not.

i'll manipulate those little fuckers without making them feel forced.

'ice cream for the first kid to make 3 backhands in a row!'

awesome videos AJ. your 8 year old has a better swing than i ever did.

When coaching I must say a lot of times I feel like parents are watching a completely different game than me.

My pony baseball coach kicked dirt on a blue when I was I eighth grade.

I think it is the execution afterwards that matters, not the kickstart. In my family, you played football or I think you died. Those were your choices. We all did but none of my family - uncles or my father - was ever overly critical or mean once we got started. They deferred to the coaches and I think that is why we all played from six to high school (one cousin in college) despite having no choice on whether or not we started playing.

I'm kind of this way with a twist. I don't care what they play. Obviously I lean towards basketball but if they choose something else I'm fine. But they are going to be active in something. I also do my best to stay out of the coach's way at games and practice. I refuse to become one of those parents.

It was baseball in my family like that.

I wanted to play soccer and baseball, I almost got beat for wanting to play soccer

I wonder how it feels to be a parent of a kid that is absolutely terrible. The other parents must talk a ton of shit.

My former best friend was that guy. He went 0-17 in his high school career and struck out all 17 times. I got embarrassed because my mom was that parent that said to him "you'll get em next time"

the boys played soccer, baseball and basketball till they/we decided it was time to slim it down by at least one sport. then they really just wanted to play baseball.

with my oldest going into middle school next year, he might change his mind completely. Who knows. he is going to do something though.
