I played vs Trumbell in, shit I want to say 1988, with the Eastchester Blue Devils in a bowl game. We stomped them to death; starters were out of the game by the end of the half. That said, good to see Pop Warner still going strong in the tri-state.

What's the weight limit on Senior Mitey Mites (they only had mitey mites when I played). I was too big for it so I played Jr. Pee Wee at seven.
Senior Mites are 9 & under, 90 & under. Junior Mites are 8 & under, 90 & under and you could have older/lighters 9 year olds 65 & under.

My son plays on a 12U travel baseball team and the coach used to be a scout or something like that and knows a tons of guys. He is close friends with a bunch of St Louis Cardinals and even closer with the Molina Brothers/family. Last night the 3 brothers showed up at the boys practice and talked to the kids for about 30 minutes. Benji did most of the talking, super cool and positive guy. Stressed hard work and listening to your parents and respecting your teachers...(sounded like a Hulk Hogan speach)

My wife snapped about 30 pics, here are a couple:

Tonight there is a softball HR derby at the Florida State League Cubs stadium. The boys will be shaggin balls. The 3 brothers will be there plus 4 or 5 other Cardinals...John Jay, Carlos Beltran (i cant remember the rest to be honest)

Initially Pujols was coming but something came up and he couldnt make it. The boys are all pumped. Pretty cool

Jon jay is one of my favorite canes baseball players of all time! Can I shag balls and pretend to be 12?

Btw, can you please teach your son how to put a little bend on that hat brim? Sheesh :D

I agree wholeheartedly. It makes them look like they should be played by Giovanni Ribisi in a touching movie about a romance between "special" people.

aj done even act like u didnt go through that phase where when pitching, you'd bend your cap extra further in/down to create that "tunnel vision".....

when i did that, i meant business

it's be interesting to see what the actual stats were rather than what was in my 12 year old superstitious mind

How many of you were like me, and A) acted like I was fumbling around in my glove trying to get the perfect grip for my "Change Up", then just tried to sneak a heater by the hitter.. and B) when I actually DID throw the circle change, I'd GRUNT like I was throwing the gas!

Man, what a nerd I must of looked like! But hey, when you're 12/13... That shit was what made you legit!

When I was 12, I threw 1 pitch, as hard as I could.

When I didn't walk 3 or 4 guys in an inning, I didn't give up many hits.

I always thought I was a pretty good pitcher. At age 12 I had good stuff.. A pretty good 2-seam fastball, a good circle change, and a nasty 12/6 curve.. My sister dated Darryle May who was a pitcher for the Royals amongst other MLB teams, and he taught me quite a bit back then.

When I went to the Oregon All State Game my Senior year, my eyes were opened to just how average I truly was. There were guys trippin the gun at 90+, with better junk than me... Made me appreciate the game for just that, a game. Because I now knew I had NO FUTURE in the sport as a proffession!

Pretty sure that AJ just made "soak it all in" the new "you'll see."
