Alabama Season Preview

Post by Ry »

This was the off season we unloaded prospects for more established players. First, the Bears acquired Joseph Sexton to take over in center field. Sexton should still produce for the next 3-4 years then that contract will become an albatross. What the Bears F.O. didn't realize is LF Jorge Alvarado would soon become available. They were quick to strike a deal for Alvarado thus reshaping the whole organization even more. They added more star power but weakened their youthful depth. The lineup for the 2067 season:

SS Jose Medina- fan favorite who could move to third if Walker doesn't resign with Alabama.
LF Jorge Alvarado- can hit for power and plays at a high level in the field.
CF Joseph Sexton- a star in the center field.
1b Sergio Bravo- Rookie of the year who knocked in 42 home runs with an OPS+ of 136
DH- Chris Clement- hit 22 and 25 home runs in his first two years this year looks to be the year he reaches 30 while also drawing plenty of walks.
2b -Woody Walker- he carried the offense in their playoff run and just continues to rake.
3b Emilio Robles- only 23 and he already has 73 home runs along with a career war of 10.4
RF- Roy Riley- acquired in the rule five draft and has been a steady three year starter for the Bears. He has plenty of speed, plays right field well and can hit about 15 home runs a year.
C-Yoshihisa Kamimura- provides consistent power at the bottom of the lineup and is an above average catcher.

Pitching:
SP Luis Flores- has been sensational but has to overcome the injury bug. If he gets hurt the Bears title chances  will drop significantly.
SP Leonard Morales- Morales is a steady left hander who will win double digit games and have some dominant streaks as well a cold spell here and there.
SP Javier Reyes- His time in Alabama wasn't to smooth after he was acquired from OCD. Now that he will start the season in Bama he should be back to his old self.
SP Po-sin-Zhang- The last time we saw him on the mound he had melted down in game seven but he is a key player in the rotation and should win double digit games.
SP Pablo Reyes-last year he won 19 games as the fifth pitcher. He probably won't repeat that performance but he is a steady are at the back of the rotation.

The bullpen is very good led by closer Jeff Clark. We have plenty of options in the bullpen and outside of unexpected drops in productivity this unit should be a top five unit.

My season prediction is around 105 wins and have a great chance to make the World Series and maybe even win the whole thing!

Good luck everyone.

Stacked team with capability of winning a bunch of games after the additions.

Nice moves and a favorite to do a lot of damage in the NL for sure.

Jealous about Alvarado. Was a player I definitely wanted, but just couldn't pay the price.

Good looking team. Good luck.

Great looking squad, a Greeks/Bama World Series looks like a strong possibility
