Billy D's 2064 HOF Forecast
The Slam Dunks
C Stu Kirk: One of the most underrated superstars of his era. 3 time champion and a 6 time all-star who could mash. Career .303/.379/.511 slash with 338 HRs and exactly 2k hits. All of this while being average on D. His career war of 70.9 ranks him 4th all time amongst catchers. This one is easy, one of the best catchers the NDL has ever seen.
CL Erik "Wu-Tang" Murphy: I mean fuck, the nickname alone should get it done but he also was the best closer in the game for a long time and was just a dominant force. 5 time reliever of the year.... FIVE TIMES and also a 9 time all-star. 466 career saves, 2.45 era and a whip of 1.07 era. I know some just won't vote for relievers for some reason but he is one of the best we have ever had and this one should be easy.
OF Ryan Payne: Kind of a forgotten star as he played in LV the last 4 year and 4 years in PO during AJ's dark years but he has been an offensive force for a long time. Slash of .310/.389/.503, nearly 2700 hits, 386 HRs and over 70 war. As consistent as they come and had 7 seasons hitting over .330 and 12 seasons over .300. All of this while also being a consistent 20-30 HR threat.
A Very Strong Case
SP Jorge Meija: A very unique situation as if he stayed as a reliever he would have had a better shot and been one of the best we have had but when made a SP he was still very good. He was a damn good reliever for 9 seasons before making the jump to a SP and that knuckleball allowed him to excel there too. A 5 time all-star as well. He falls short as he had a lot of mediocre seasons and not consistently elite but his versatility and excelling in both spots gets him closer.
We can talk about him, he may get there, but he has work to do
I don't have anyone in this category, weak crop this year.

My ballot:
Kirk
Wu-Tang
Payne
Kirk
Wu-Tang
Payne
Re: Billy D's 2064 HOF Forecast
I would include Claudio Lopez as a shoe in, simply because anyone that plays for RI is a HoFer.

He was definitely on a HOF track but got cut short and numbers look much worse after the few dud seasons waiting to retire. Poor fellaCnasty wrote:It had to pain Billy even a little to not even mention Noda.

That was one for the ages too.Cnasty wrote:Classic niddler tirades are always a good read in my book.
I mean, if we can't poke fun at Billy literally saying a guy is a "Slam Dunk" HOFer but does not have that guy in a category also literally called "Slam Dunks" then WTF are we even doing here?
I blame Billy for not taking the joke very well which emboldened Niddler for the epic, wayyyyyyyyy overboard tirade.

Now I kind of want to know how many people have not argued/rant/blown up (whatever phrase you want to use) at shel.
I would guess Corey and Dave off the top of my head.
