Thunder Crabs 2064 Preview

Post by Uuaww »

I haven't done one of these in ages but nothing happening here so decided to do a write up:

Rotation:
#1 Jason Guzman
#2 Chris Orozco

The ANCHORS of the Crab rotation... because they never get hurt. Guzman is legit and has a Cy Young. Orozco is a fine back-end guy who's largest claim to fame is he is 'iron man' status.

Medical Ward:
#3 Angelo Caballero- fuck this guy. The highest overall rating of any SP in the game. 12 starts in the last 3 years and somehow only 'fragile'.
#4 Ryan Baker- midseason pickup, is cheap and good enough. Also 'fragile'.
#5 Mike Lee- wrecked, but the good kind of wrecked. Will compete with McGuire for who walks the fewest batters this season. OLD AF.

Up and Coming:
Tony Sanchez- gets his shot at the bigs whenever someone in the Medical Ward gets hurt... Expect to see him around May.

Bullpen and the rest:
Anthony Womack- Crab legend. A successful season would be him not having to start a game.

Lineup:
C Jorge Vega- 1.6 WAR last season and will probably be there again, great defensive catcher who is fine with the bat.
1B Sam Jenkins- 5.5 WAR and solid power hitter.
2B Michael Collazo- 4.0 WAR and will try and trade him all season, likely failing. Elite defense and walks a ton with 23 HRs.
3B Yodo Kichida- 4.1 WAR underrated 3B who hit .300.
SS Soshu Sumita- 5.6 WAR and basically all of it is from defense. The greatest defensive SS in league history. Hits well above his rate with a 44 contact.
RF Dave Barber- 1.1 WAR and was a disappointment, needs to perform to keep his spot in the lineup.
CF Bob Fulford-1.5 WAR last season while his ratings tanked. Will be a bench player by seasons end. Shel hosed me.
LF Pete Olsen- 3.2 WAR in his final arb here. bats .300 and has pretty much every season in the majors. Also on the trade block.
DH Lee Robinson- 5.9 WAR and 'does it all', except play defense with his 99 speeds and 2 range. Scout says he loves to 'learn about the game', yet can't figure out how to shag a flyball.

Up and Coming:
Leonardo Moran will make his debut this season. Will add a lot of pop to the Crab lineup when he comes up.

Last year: Lost in the NLDS to Seattle
Prediction (if rotation is intact for playoffs): WS or bust.
Prediction (when Cab blows out his shoulder again): Early NL playoff exit to Corey's delight.

YES!!!

But yea, I wasn't a fan of having to give him up, ratings wise he looked like a monster. But those ratings did tank, and I'm not sure he's starter level good going forward.

So glad you decided not to trade him, I would have done something stupid.

Revenge for the Davies subsequent ratings explosion.

It all hinges and Cab and that’s not a good thing for Washington. Really excited to see what Moran does when he gets the call.

He has the ratings to be the best IFA we have seen since Marino imo.

I hate so much that he is in Washington but I feel good knowing he will blow out his knee or something with how bad their medical staff is.

Team doctor retired last year. And I only seem to have problems with pitchers lol

near 8 WAR Cuevas laughs in your general direction. Youd have to be a Moran to think Teds IFA will be better.

Moran should be a meatier bat but Cuevas plays a premium defensive position with a very good bat. Getting 8 WAR from just batting is Fujihara level.

Counting the number of times Ted has turned me down when trying to acquire Cab after the injury
